Great Expectations and Celebrations #1
Caregivers for seniors in Northern Portage county and surrounding areas can celebrate with us as we open Coleman Adult Day Services on the Campus of Anna Maria in Aurora. Like our first adult day center in Ravenna, Coleman Adult Day Services in Aurora is a medical model program that offers many of the same services available at a nursing home, but within a day-time venue and at a substantially lower cost. Both locations have the capability to serve participants who have multiple medical conditions, severe disability or advanced levels of Alzheimer’s disease, while also meeting the needs of higher functioning individuals who may be suffering from isolation or depression.
Caregivers receive the benefit of being able to work or have time for other personal or family needs, knowing that their loved one is well cared for. To schedule a free half day visit or to learn more about the services available at our new Coleman Adult Day facility, please call 330-562-0702 (Aurora) or 330-296-3214 (Ravenna). Information is also available at www.coleman-adultday.com.

Great Celebrations!
On an unseasonably cold, damp October day, an Open House was held at the recently completed Walter Capling Apartments in Kent. Formerly known as the Franklin Apartments, the new name was unveiled at a brief dedication ceremony. These 11 one-bedroom apartments are now home to people in our community who are suffering from chronic mental illness and were homeless.
The welcome warmth of the apartments was greatly appreciated by those who attended and toured them. It was a stark contrast to the weather outside and was a reminder to all of us that the new tenants will now have a place to be warm and safe, and focus on their recovery.
Coleman’s President and CEO, Nelson Burns, mentioned to the crowd that security deposits of $550 were needed for each apartment. Some of those deposits have since been pledged. The entire apartment project still is in need of $106,000. For more information on the apartments and Walter Capling, or to learn how to donate toward this valuable project, please click here.
